Howdy all. Back in my youth I did some varmint hunting. It was mainly coyotes as they were both a pest and widely available as a target. If I recall correctly, the state didn't even have a limit because they were considered so disruptive to livestock, etc. Anyway, as an adult, I really haven't have had the time or inclination to bother with it. If I see them messing with our critters (e.g., chickens), I would certainly provide them with a .223 round for the trouble though. Some deer hunters I know claim it helps them keep sharp in the off-season.

I am curious if there are any other coyote and/or varmint hunters on the board. Why do you hunt them? With what? Are they a danger to livestock and children in your area?

    Thanks much.

P.S. If you never have heard one, there are few things as goofy sounding as a coyote call. ;)

Coyote call, haha, that would've come in handy, I'll have to get one. I spent about a month waking up at dawn and heading outside hunt and kill this darn coyote who kept killing my cats and my neighbors chickens. I was shocked at how brave this coyote had become, he'd just head down the driveway and come onto my in plain sight. I never got him, but something must've because I don't see him anymore. By the way, have you ever seen a coyote climb a fence? Quite nutty to see!

I go hunting me and my friends have so much fun , I like to make kiss noises and hit the ground also using a Coyote call is an essential while I mess with the Coyotes. I would suggest getting a good sniper scope so that you can see pretty far , I remember this one kill that I got it was as if the Coyote exploded with fur and dust it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I think I accidentally shot a wind turbine once oh well that is in the past I'm sure , Coyote tastes so good bro. Very nice fur , my triple shock ammo is awesome it goes right through them! feels good to be a Coyote control specialist. I use a Remington 700 bolt rifle in a .243 caliber now.

Ewwww. I am guessing this was in jest though. Because, well, no one eats them here. They are just a nuisance with respect to livestock.
