Curious to hear everyone's thoughts on these two calibers. In my brief research it looks like 17 hornet would be a lot of fun to play with a reload, but do you think it would be worth the hassle of reloading when HMR is pretty cheap already and it shoots like a little laser?

I used to have an H&R in .22 Hornet and it was a fun little caliber but I wasn't a huge fan of the gun itself and I couldn't find a use for already having a .223 and .22-250. The ability to reload a 17 Hornet in one of the nice looking Lightweight Hunters seems like it could be worthwhile.

Why is the 7 hornet such a drag to reload? The only .22 caliber I know of is the .22 Long rifle. I never fired a .22 weapon and from what I know it is a starter for those who want to fire a weapon with less of a worry with recoil.
